Une aventure d'Alexia Tarabotti tome 3 : Sans honte de Gail Carriger

Alexia a été rejeté par Lord Maccon qui ne peut accepter que l'enfant qu'elle porte soit de lui. Criant à l'infidélité, la pauvre jeune femme se retrouve seule, car même sa famille ne veut l'héberger devant le scandale de sa situation. C'est Lord Akeldama qui propose de la prendre sous son aile, car même la reine Victoria l'a exclu du Cabinet Fantôme. Mais le vampire disparaît soudainement et Alexia se voit devenue la cible des autres vampires qui ne souhaitent pas la laisser vivre sa grossesse en paix. La seule chose qu'il lui reste à faire, c'est de fuir en Italie pour tenter de trouver des réponses sur sa condition et prouver à tous que son enfant est bien celui de Lord Maccon.

Ce troisième tome d'Alexia Tarabotti est juste un bijou. Je l'ai autant apprécié que les deux précédents et je trouve que dans cette saga, l'auteur nous offre une réelle évolution des personnages et de l'intrigue principale. L'humour est toujours aussi présent et nous fait sourire à de multiples reprises. Le style est vif, agréable et on voyage aux côtés de notre héroïne atypiques avec plaisir ! C'est la saga bit-lit la plus intelligente que j'ai pu lire jusqu'à présent grâce aux nombreux clins d'oeils et surtout à cette manière d'amener de l'humour là où on ne l'attend pas. Alors oui, ce troisième opus est dans la même lignée que les précédents, mais c'est ça qui me plait à moi. Au moins, je sais que je vais passer un agréable moment et m'amuser des aventures d'Alexia. 

J'avais d'ailleurs hâte de lire ce troisième opus surtout vu la manière dont s'était terminé le précédent et c'est avec plaisir que j'ai suivi les mésaventures d'Alexia et de sa grossesse. (Étant moi-même enceinte je peux vous dire que je me suis parfois reconnue dans ce qu'il lui arrivait !). La pauvre subit tellement qu'elle en vient à regretter de porter un enfant au début du roman. Heureusement, peu à peu elle finit par éprouver de l'attachement à son futur enfant et du coup, on se demande comment évoluera ce côté maternel d'Alexia et quelle sera la nature de son bébé. C'est d'ailleurs la question au centre du roman et jusqu'au bout on a très peu d'éléments de réponses, laissant planer le doute et beaucoup de mystère sur ce bambin. 

La relation entre Lord Maccon et Alexia est tendue, mais explosive et les voir évoluer pour le meilleur et pour le pire (enfin surtout le pire dans le cas présent) est franchement extra et nous donne envie d'avoir un happy end pour nos deux tourtereaux. S'ajoute à cela une panoplie de personnages tous plus attachants les uns que les autres : Mme Lefoux, la français et inventrice qui ne peut s'empêcher de suivre Alexia partout, Floote l'ancien majordome qui la suite aussi partout afin de la protéger. Lyall, le second de Lord Maccon qui devient quelqu'un d'important et sur qui tout repose au sein de la meute, le temps de Maccon s'enivre et déprime. 

Bref, ce troisième opus est juste excellent et j'ai bien hâte de lire la suite ! Une saga que je recommande sans restriction !
