Guest Post from J. A. Campbell, author of Summer Break Blues

Hi gang, I’m Cliff, one of the main characters in Rusty Fischer’s YA paranormal book from Decadent Publishing, Ushers, Inc. I’m here today to interview the main character, Meg, from J. A. Campbell’s awesome Senior Year Bites:

Q: So, Meg, I spent a lot of time fighting vampires in Ushers, Inc. (You know, before I actually became one and all.) I’m just curious, what did you think of vampires before you, you know, actually became one too?

A: Um, I guess I never really thought much about them. I mean, they are monsters in movies, not real things. Well, obviously they are, but I still have a hard time believing it.

Q: Now, for the obvious question: What do you like MOST about being a vampire?

A: I really like to be able to sneak into bars. I mean, I never was into drinking or anything, but its fun knowing I can go anywhere I want. Being able to move super fast is pretty sweet, too.

Q: So, I have to ask because I have a few of my own, but… what’s your favorite extra special super power about being a vampire? Like, do you like it when your wounds heal faster the most, or what?

A: The wounds healing thingy has been pretty handy. This jerk damn near broke my neck and I was fine in a few moments. I really like the super strength, though. I don’t have to be afraid of anything but, well, other vampires.

Q: Okay, okay, I’m sure you’re all “Hey, Cliff, being a vampire doesn’t DEFINE me, man,” so… what’s your life like now? I mean, like your daily, personal, non-vampire-related life?

A: Um, non-vampire related life? Dude, I’m a vampire, my whole life is ruled by it. I have to feed I have to avoid the sunlight, though for some reason I can tolerate it. I’m still trying to figure out how to adapt. Maybe if I’d watched all those monster movies you like, I’d have it easier. Pretty much I go to school, hang out with friends and hope my mom doesn’t notice I’m acting weird.

Q: I always love asking this of other book characters: Is there anything you wish your author would have written differently about you? Like, would you rather have been taller, shorter, different hair color, what?

A: Haha, left me human? No, I mean Steph has always been the pretty and athletic one. My appearance is fine and right now it’s better to blend in. Maybe if I’d had a boyfriend before I’d been turned then I’d have better luck having one now.

Q: And I have to ask, because I always wondered about this: how did the dance go with Tad at the end of Senior Year Bites? Inquiring minds are undying to know (Get it? Undying to know?):

A: *blush* Really good. He’s sweet, and actually a good dancer, though I’ve never danced before in my life. He even kissed me, but it was really hard not to vamp out on him, so that’s the only time he’s kissed me.

Q: Okay, last question: What can we expect from you in the sequel to Senior Year Bites, Summer Break Blues?

A: My usual sarcastic, butt kicking way of looking at the world, since, you know, I can kick butt now. There’s this really cool lighthouse, and a storm, and another vampire. Oh, and the damn Sidhe won’t leave us alone, and a few more things I won’t spoil for you.

Okay, guys, you heard it here first. Meg, it was an honor to interview you and, from one character to another, if I did ever run up against another vampire, I hope it’s you!!!

Oh, and PS: here’s a special note from Meg: "Grover, thanks for having me here. It was nice to meet another vampire my age. Maybe you can give me some tips sometime."

Will do, Meg, and for any of you readers who want to know more about this awesome chick and her crazy vampire adventures, just click on either of the book covers above for a guaranteed awesome read!!!
